Overview
Activate offers full-day camps for incoming 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Summer camps are not just for our students; they are open to the whole community.
Our camps have an arts focus, especially media arts, such as animation, digital photography, and design. Campers also do traditional art and engineering. Additionally, they swim three times a week, visit local parks, and have a lot of indoor choice time, in which they can explore art, music, games, books, puzzles, and more.
There is a 45-minute literacy block in the morning with the goal of preventing summer reading regression. We don’t do reading remediation and are not a dyslexia camp.
Tween/Teen Assistants (TTAs)
Every week, there are two slots for incoming 7th and 8th graders to assist. Tuition for assistants is 20% off the regular tuition. There is more information on this page.
Enrollment
Enrollment opens up on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 8:00 am. Historically, some camps sell out within hours, and the majority sell out within a day or two.
Activate School students, graduates, and Activate siblings are eligible for early registration.
Hours
The drop-off window is 8:30-9:15, and the pick-up window is from 3:30-5:00.
Daily Focuses
Every day has a different art focus, and projects vary from week to week.
Monday: Graphic Design (Every camper will design a t-shirt once per summer)
Tuesday: Photography
Wednesday: Hands-On Art
Thursday: Animation
Friday: Engineering
Weekly Schedule*
* The activities during the first week of camp will vary due to pool availability.
Dates, Tuition, and Field Trip Schedule*
A week of camp is $500, except for the final week is $530 because of the added expense of the Oaks Park field trip.
* The field trips during the first week of camp could change. It’s dependent on when pools open, which hasn’t been announced.
Payment Plan
There is an optional four-installment payment plan for all camp purchases. 25% is due upon registering, on 3/1/25, on 4/1/25 , and on 5/1/25. Payments will be automatically charged.
Waiting List
To join a waiting list for a full camp, select the greyed-out 'register' button on the registration page.
Users must enter their credit card number when signing up for a waiting list slot but will not be charged. If a camp slot becomes available, we’ll email the next person on the waiting list and ask if they are still interested in the opening. They will have 24 hours to respond. We’ll complete their transaction with the card on file if they are still interested.
