Enrollment
2025-2026 Application Process
The 2025-2026 school year is fully enrolled. Parents interested in enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year can fill out an application, and we’ll contact you if openings become available.
2026-2027 Application Process
The first two steps can be completed in either order.
The parent(s) attend a group information session/tour. Register here. (More dates will be added through the fall and early winter.)
The parent(s) apply.
For applicants whom we believe are well-matched for our program, we will schedule a meeting and tour with the child and their parent(s). The child is expected to participate in the meeting.
After that meeting, if the parent(s), the child, and we feel that Activate could be a good match, we will schedule a shadow day, in which the child spends a school day with us.
Phone Meeting
Parents will learn about Activate’s curriculum, schedule, staff, and other important things during the group information session/tour, and they’ll have time to ask general questions. If a parent has questions that are private or specific to their child, they can schedule a 15-minute meeting with Greg, Activate’s director, using this link.
What We Look for in Applicants
Applicants who are excited about Activate.
Applicants who love art.
Applicants who connect well socially during their shadow day.
Applicants who have similar academic skills to current or incoming students.
Applicants who are independent and self-directed.
Applicants who are curious and creative.
Applicants who are respectful and responsible.
Applicants with a sibling who is currently or formerly enrolled at Activate.
We value racial diversity, gender diversity, ability diversity, and religious diversity. We fully support LGBTQ students and LGBTQ households. We aspire to have a diverse student body.
We can accommodate some high-energy students, anxious students, students with sensory needs, students with ASD (level 1), students with ADHD, gifted students, and combinations of all those things.
Who We Can Not Accommodate
We cannot accommodate aggressive or destructive children because we lack the staffing, training, and resources.
We cannot accommodate children who refuse to complete assignments or are defiant in other ways.
We cannot accommodate children who regularly need breaks during academic blocks. Our math block is 60 minutes long and our literacy block is 80 minutes, with a 5-minute break in the middle. We expect all our students, most of the time, to have the stamina and discipline to make it through these blocks without additional breaks.
We cannot accommodate incoming third graders who are significantly less mature than their grade-level peers, as it's challenging for our fifth graders to be classmates with kids who act like first or second graders.
