Summer Camp Employment

We are hiring an entry-level assistant for eight weeks of summer camp, 13.5 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a neighborhood teen who enjoys working with children.

Hours & Locations

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 1:00-3:30

The assistant will meet us at Sellwood Pool.

  • Tuesdays: 1:00-4:00.

    The assistant will meet us at Johnson Creek Park while we’re at recess and finish the day at Activate.

  • Thursday: 2:00-5:00

  • Week 7: 7/28/25 - 8/1/25

Responsibilities

  • Play games and interact with campers.

  • Assist campers with projects.

  • Swim regardless of the weather or water temperature.

  • Assist kids in the locker rooms.

  • Help set up and clean up projects.

  • Clean at the end of the day, which includes cleaning floors, tables, sinks, and toilets.

  • Be a good role model and positively represent Activate.

Requirements

  • Be 14 years old or older by the start of camp, June 24.

  • Know how to swim.

  • Have the physical endurance to be in the pool for two hours under challenging conditions, like extreme heat or cold water.

  • Be calm and patient.

  • Enjoy working with children.

  • If over 18 years old, be registered in the Oregon Department of Education Early Learning Division, Central Background Registry, before working with children.

Compensation

  • The pay is $16.30 per hour.
